SCAA Events
Winter Jamboree
SCAA’s Winter Jamboree is a chance for our youth to play in front of a crowd and to bring SCAA together before the season starts. This is also a big fundraising event for SCAA held at Asa Mercer Middle School. We host a bake sale, gift basket raffle and have concessions to purchase. All SCAA teams participate with the exception of the high school boys.
Al Mar Invitational & Potluck social
SCAA marks the end of the season by hosting the Al Mar Invitational Tournament with all SCAA teams competing against squads from Portland or the Seattle area.
The same weekend as the Al Mar Tournament, SCAA hosts its annual Social and Potluck. This is an opportunity for the SCAA community to come together outside of basketball. Players and parents are invited to join the SCAA community for good food, fun, and entertainment during the SCAA Social and Potluck.
Awards & Appreciation Banquet
The season concludes with the SCAA Awards and Appreciation Banquet. Players, coaches and parents are invite to dinner where we honor all of the teams and give out awards for the season. Tickets can be purchased during the Al Mar Tournament. All players and parents are encouraged to come.
3v3 Tournament and Hoopfest
High school players and coaches participate in the 3v3 tournament with co-ed teams playing to see who rules the court. Grade school and middle school players compete in various shooting competitions including a free throw contest, three point contest and quick shoot contest. They also get to play a full court co-ed game against each other.
Girls Summer Skills Camp
Join SCAA this summer for a basketball skills camp just for girls! We welcome all girls in 4th to 12th grade. This is a great opportunity to try out SCAA, or just sharpen your basketball skills. For current SCAA players, this will give you a head-start on the season. Dates for the 2023 camp are TBD. Sessions are usually Wednesdays from 6:30pm – 8:30pm at Jefferson Community Center (3801 Beacon Ave S, Seattle, WA 98108).
Our five-week basketball skills camp will concentrate on a different aspect of the game each week: offense, defense, ball handling, and footwork. In the fifth week, we will tie all the lessons together and scrimmage.
The camp will cost $20 for all five sessions, or $5 for each session. If you pay for two or more weeks, you will get a free t-shirt! Payment will be accepted at the camp in the form of cash or check. Drop-ins may be accepted if space is available.
More information to come regarding pre-registration to guarantee your spot. Stay tuned!
