The mission of SCAA is to provide an athletic program of organized basketball for its members and to provide a sense of community through participation and support. SCAA feels it is more important for our youth to place the emphasis on participation, enjoyment, skill development and friendship than winning.

Citizenship is a learned behavior we integrate through home, school, friendships and activities. Basketball promotes individual growth in many dimensions; taking responsibility for your own decisions on the basketball court, decision making under pressure, and learning teamwork in a competitive environment.

SCAA strives to provide a structured learning and growth environment for our youth, developing friendship and citizenship skills through basketball.

"I’ve had many great experiences with SCAA over the years.  One of the main things is the awesome friendships and building good relationships with the coaches.  This past year I learned to work with new teammates and coaches.  It’s all about teamwork and having fun!"

President’s Message

One key element that makes our organization stronger is the involvement of parents and family members. Your continued commitment to ensure our youth have a safe place to learn the game of basketball, while surrounded by strong community support, is essential in our success. All of you are important for SCAA to continue to grow on the foundation and history of what our founders started in 1968.

– Tammy Chin
"The community SCAA provided was key in finding my cultural identity as a youth while forming lifelong friendships. I love that I am able to give that opportunity back to the kids in our program."
